Cervical spine: That is an excellent question. Spine surgeons will tell you that our cervical spine starts to show degenerative changes around your 20s. Usually changes in intervertebral disc height are first. In the cervical spine, osteophyte formation can cause nerve impingement and radiculopathy. A doctor needs to consider disc disease and other spinal disorders such as spondylolisthesis etc for cervical pain.

Fatty fish, egg yolks, cheese, some meats are good food sources.

Depends.: Depends upon age.  VIt D deficiency in children produces Rickets -  a marked softening of the bones with bone pain and "bow legs." Other Sx include motor delay, poor growth, and increased susceptibility to infections.

In adults Vit D deficiency generally causes no symptoms but if severe and protracted causes bone pain, fractures, muscle weakness, and difficulty walking.

Vitamin D deficiency: Normally lack of exposure to sunlight.  This can be accentuated by the fact we are now also covering our bodies with more clothing and sunscreen to prevent skin cancer.  In addition, lack of vit d in our diets or poor absorption of vitamin d.  Foods normally don't have much vitamin d but some foods that our high in vit d include wild salmon, mackerel, eggs, liver.
