Depends upon cause: Not uncommon for this to be due to stroke, but can be seen with any brain pathology affecting optic radiations or occipital lobe.  Treatment in case of stroke is best preventative, such as using anti platelet drugs, but once there is tissue damage, unusual for much improvement.  Unfortunately, no simple solution to reverse brain damage once established.

Limited data: There is limited and conflicting data regarding marijuana use and stroke recovery.  Some studies suggest there may be a benefit, while others show no such relationship.  Hence, there are no definitive recommendations that can be made.  However, there are data regarding the effects of smoking, which is quite clear - smoking is bad for you.  That much is clear.

Over hyped: Vision therapy is a system which tries to correct disorders of eye motion and visual learning by the application of a variety of exercises.  It has never been subjected to actual clinical trials.  Improvement is noted when test scores improve but this is largely a practice effect and there are no proven long term benefits to this type of activity.

No evidence: Vision therapy is an untested, unproven means allegedly to improve visual efficiency.  It cannot improve basic vision which requires eyeglasses or correction of eye disease.  Vision therapy is expensive and of no benefit.  If this has been recommended for you, consult with a neuro-ophthalmologist.

Ineffective: Vision therapy, sponsored by optometrists as a means to improve performance of children in school who seem to be under performing, has failed any test to which it is put (meaning they produce no meaningful improvement).  There is a short term benefit from lessening strife at home, as now the vision becomes the reason for poor performance - but the lessons do not help in the long run.

Unlikely: Vision therapy supposedly improves the efficiency of vision but cannot in any circumstance improve eye position which is what is dysfunctional in strabismus.  Vision therapy is untested, unproven and generally a big waste of time and money.  Check with an ophthalmologist who is a specialist in strabismus in your area (frequently pediatric ophthalmologists) for the best information on your eyes.

Untested: Vision therapy is an untested, unverified method which is advertised by its practitioners (optometrists) to be effective in treating practically all dysfunctions of the visual system.  In most cases, it serves to keep the patient busy while spontaneous improvement occurs.  It is generally expensive.  Improvement, largely spontaneous, is then credited to the "therapy".

no data: Vision therapy is practiced by optometrists who charge a great deal for the sessions.  There are no reputable clinical studies; only anecdotal accounts.  Most practitioners of this are charismatic and committed, but their results are unsubstantiated and probably not worth the effort or the money. See an ophthalmologist first before entering into such a program.
