i can dilate&shrink my pupils on command.when i change size my vision becomes blurry.can also make heart race.why can i do this but noone i know can?

Eye muscles: There are muscles in the eye that allow us to focus on things up close and look at things in a distance. This muscle changes the shape of the pupil as it looks at these various distances. You're describing your ability to do this, called accommodation. I'm not sure about the ability to make your heart race and what that means.

Yes.: It is common, expected and practically universal. Your pupil is dilated by the eye doctor in order to be able to get a better and more complete view of the back internal structures of your eye (retina, macula, optic nerve). The drug induced dilation temporarily paralyzes the muscles in the iris & ciliary body that one uses to properly focus resulting in temporary blurred vision mostly at near.

2-4 hours: The most commonly used drops take 2-4 hours to completely resolve.  There are reversal drops that can take some of the effect away.

i had my eyes dilated around 11a it is now 4:30p i can see fine with my glasses but my vision is blurred with my contacts is this from the dilation?

YES: I suggest waiting at least 8 hours, without contacts until the medication ( dilator medication) wear off- figure 8-12 hours and...wear sunglasses.

Get medical consult.: Hello, sudden pupil dilation and visual disturbances are neurological symptoms that need to be addressed further. There is need to consult a Neurologist and probably imaging studies to evaluate/exclude conditions such posterior cerebral artery aneurysm, dural arteriovenous fistulas etc. Take care.

Evaluate: Although your wife is not having pain, she is having acute symptoms that are concerning.
Glaucoma, iritis, or other.  I would get things checked.

had full eye exam including dilation 4 dats ago. all is well. i have chronic dry eye for years. today left eye vision is cloudy. i put drops in but not helping. doc isnt open until monday. any idea what this is? vision is ok.

Vision change: Anytime a person has a clouding or loss of vision in one eye, I recommend a trip to an ED because the causes for one sided visual worsening can be serious. It’s good your recent exam was OK but not things can happen - like a clouding of your cornea or a lack of blood supply to your retina - these can be evaluated in an emergency setting by trained doctors.

Dilation: As a common part of the vision evaluation, the pupil may need dilation with eyedrops to allow a better view of the back of the eye.This causes some disturbance of the vision including difficulty focusing and blur from the enlarged pupil.  All of this will disappear by the next day as the pupil normalizes.

how long can qbrexza dilate pupils ? my left pupil has been dilated for almost one week now. doctor not worried. blurry vision. waiting to see eye doctor but not for one month. i was told to continue treatment ?
