how can you tell if you have stomach bug or something more? been sick since friday .roomie who's surg tech says virus.i think gallbladder who's right?

See previous answer: A stomach bug will be self limited to a week or so, and gallbladder will have pain that comes and goes - although it can be there for a while. Most stomach bugs are from others - and there is some stomach virus going around.

having my gallbladder removed i have had temps of 99.5-99.7 for 2 months i have past epstein barr virus. so dr is doing liver biopsy. why?

Liver biopsy: Your body temperatures are normal. The majority of the population has had ebv infection in the past. What we have here is a failure to communicate.  You need to talk to your doctor and have them explain in detail what they think you have and how the liver biopsy will help them manage your condition. Good luck and best wishes.

can virus cause gallbladder attack?  spouse + myself had attack within weeks. gallbladder pain followed 10 days of flu symptoms (body pain + fatigue)?

Gall bladder pain: Are you sure it is your gall bladder? After you eat a greasy meal, are you having right upper abdominal pains about an hour afterwards? If so, better see your PCP for u/s of your gall bladder. If not, better go see him anyhow for work up.

why am i getting  a constant sharp pain on my right side where my stomach is? this started yesterday, did i pull a muscle when i was bending over yesterday,  ive had my gallbladder out so its not that.cant see a doctor now thanks to the corona virus.

Actually: your liver is on right side. Could be a muscle pull, should be pretty superficial. Is it a deep pain, any nausea ,vomiting anything else?

Possibly: Classic symptoms of gall bladder disease occur after eating a greasy meal precipitating right upper abdominal pain radiating around the right side to the back. Nausea and vomiting may also occur. However atypical symptoms may include nausea, belching,fullness in the front of the chest. An intestinal viral infection classically doesn't stir up gall bladder symptoms.

Gastroenteritis: When you have a stomach bug (gastroenteritis, usually caused by a virus) your stools can take on a wide variety of colors and textures. As your gut recovers, it will gradually resume your prior normal color and consistency. Replenishing your "good" gut bacteria with probiotic supplements and/or foods, such as yogurt or naturally fermented pickles, sauerkraut, kimchi, or kombucha may help.

Not related: Post cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) symptoms, if you get them at all, usually start soon after the operation.  2 months later, they are more likely to be due to something you ate or a a GI bug.  If they don't get better in a day or two, see your primary doctor.

See below: A normal gallbladder is about 3 to 4 inches long and about 1.5 to 2 inches wide. Normal capacity is up to 100 cc of bile so it is very light in weight.

GB sludge: The higher the fat content, the more sludge...thickened bile acids you’ll have. Not quite gallstones yet but on their way to form stones. Look at the fat in your diet. Make your fat count. Impossible to eliminate fat from diet..this is unhealthy to do. Focus on a balanced low carb Mediterranean diet..has good fat like monounsaturated fat.
