i need an alternative medication for vimovo that my medical aid plan, which is let care plus, covers.

Vimovo: is a combination drug of 500mg of Naprosyn and 20 mg of  esomperazol, Nexium,a PPI to prevent gastric irritation and reduces stomach acid.- The meds are available as generics, so you would have to take 2 separate pills. You could certainly subsitute Prilosex ( omerazole)  or Pepcid ( famotidine) or Zantac ( ranitidine); however, I suggest generics.

i have psoriasis and body acke. my doc prescribed for me vimovo 500mg/20mg but i read that the drugs contain very bad side effects like high risk of death etc any advice please? thank you?

Speak with doc: Not certain what you read but the contents are sold OTC as naproxen  and esomeprosol is similar to OTC agents. This is not harmful unless you are allergic, have asthma, are on blood thinners or take for prolonged periods of time, do,discuss with your doc because you sought some relief and your doc thought thus drug would,help. There are other options that could be offered if needed.

Go see your doctor: Familiarize yourself w/ http://www.Drugs.Com/interactions-check.Php?Drug_list=679-0, 3233-14537 as well as whatever source you used to find interactions. Quote your pharmacist if possible (s/he did say something to you, right?). Then ask your doc about risks, benefits & alternatives. Is potential benefit worth potential risk? Are there other ppis eg esomeprazole? Or perhaps h2 blocker eg ranitidine.

The question?: If your boyfriend has HIV , you need to take the proper precaution.  He will also need to be under the care of someone who takes care of HIV and you need to be tested for STDs as well.  Don't delay.

Possibly: Vimovo contains both an anti-inflammatory medication as well as a medication  to decrease stomach acid production.  If you don't have problems with acid reflux/ulcers the esomeprazole component may not be necessary for you.  You may get more targeted relief from naproxen (aleve) alone.

Sounds ok: If a person had no prior problem with taking Vimovo (esomeprazole and naproxen) by itself, or either of its ingredients by themselves; and had no problem taking Tylenol #1 (acetaminophen and codeine) by itself, or either of its ingredients by themselves; then she should be ok taking Vimovo and Tylenol #1 together. They may cause stomach symptoms. Be sure to follow one's doctor's instructions.

Visit ER: For a mild head injury, no treatment may be needed. However, watch for symptoms of a head injury, which can which can show up later.  Tylenol (acetaminophen) is the best immediate therapy. Visit ER CT or an MRI scan might be done to rule out a brain bleed.
