Throat problem: There are many problems that can occur in the throat, so get checked.  Spots of all colors can occur.  A brown spot may simply represent dried mucous or prior difficulty with a nose bleed.  Could be irritation from viral or bacterial infection although these are usually red or orange.  You could have some non-infectious irritation from, say, post-nasal drainage (allergies) or even from reflux.

Needs more time: It always takes at least a few days and sometimes a week or more for strep infection sympotoms to clear up with antibiotics. Give it more time. Take all the drug as directed. (Azithromycin [Z-pack]) is very long lasting; 5 days treatment means it will still be in your system and working for another 7-10 days.

Tonsillitis: Tonsillitis usually causes fever, sore throat, white exudates /spots on tonsils on exam. Most cases are caused by viruses and resolves on its own and do not require therapy other than symptomatic. If your pain is going away and you do not have fever then most likely you had a viral illness.

You should ask what that was and write it down.   For a painful enlarged lympn node your doctor is concerned about a bacterial infection.  Maybe from an injury or a bite?  If the lymph node pain goes away that is good.  Follow up is important

Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep). Neck swelling or pain should be examined and can be swollen nodes with strep.
