Chronic : Chronic steroid anti-inflammatory medication can slow down wound healing. A lot depends on what drug you are taking and how high of a dose it is. You could discuss the issue with your rheumatologist to see if the dose you are on would affect overall healing. It may also be worthwhile to make sure your vasculitis condition won't affect healing as well.

Depends on the: It depends on what type of vasculitis but as a general rule Prednisone is often used but other medications are often used as a while.  For the most one tries to achieve remission as opposed to cure. Please post more detail so that we can better eleaborate.

Yes.: This is a very dangerous/ life threatening disease.  It should be treated by someone with experience dealing with the disease and medications used.  Even with treatment some patients die.   The standard initial treatment is high dose Prednisone and cyclophosphamide.

See details: I would not risk any surgery for this issue. Meds you are taking increase infection risk, the vessels supplying the skin in this area are not normal and healing from any surgery could be a problem. Live with it or cover the scars with makeup.

Not really: I assume that you mean lcv, leukocytoclastic vasculitis. There are no good data on alternative therapy. Dhea has been shown to be a possible adjunct to  conventional threapy in lupus erythematosus. Others have no good data. Lcv can range from mild to life-threatening disease. Accordingly, conventional therapy is mandatory, unless (rarely) a cause for the disease can be found.

can azithioprin50 is good drug of choice in lividiod vasculitis having ulceration at medial side of leg near ankle?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Azathioprine is a reasonable choice after prednisone, especially if the Prednisone was very optimally effective or the skin lesions could not be adequately controlled on a low dose of prednisone.
