Not much more: Ablation is the best treatment. Keep off your feet as much as possible until then. Advil (ibuprofen) may help.

Possibilities...: Could just be a ruptured vein, which wouldn't be at all bad, or possibly an infection called superficial thrombophlebitis, which may require treatment. Heat but it depends: Before advising either you need a specific diagnosis. Why is it vein pain? Could be some other reason pain is the vein swollen red and hot? Other important things can cause pain in the leg like blood clots, muscle inflammation, and other and you need to have your physician check it

Tell them: It only takes a few minutes for you to call and at least leave a message with the medical staff.  That includes the physician, the medical assistant, the nurse, or a physician extender, eg a nurse practitioner(np) or physician assistant (pa). It may be crucial to the prioritization of your care. Cosmetic: Of there is no swelling then this is a cosmetic problem . It can be treated with laser or sclerotherapy . Need to find a phlebologist.

Possibly: Varicose veins, by themselves, seldom cause symptoms in the feet. There may be associated abnormalities in the deep venous system which may cause or contribute to swelling. An ultrasound test can often help in determining the reason for the swelling and discomfort.

Most likely not: DVT pain mostly in the calf because that where the deep vein is .
if you are having a pain around your varicoses vein it could be your superfical veins not your deep one.
to be sure get venous doppler to ruled out the DVT.
