i'm 9 days post extraction of my first molar on left. i am struggling to gauge when to get back to my normal routine as answers vary so much even from my own dentist. when is it safe to drink with a straw? chew on the surgical site? use my cbd vape?

: At 9 days post surgical, chance of dry socket is minimal. Just to be prudent, stay off the straw for 2 full weeks. Same for chewing on surgical site, let it heal without traumatic insult. As to vaping, it desiccates tissues. In other words it harms all oral soft tissues, not just the ones that are healing.  You are 9 days into a healthier life style. Don't throw it away.

can you vape with 50 mg nicotine after wisdom tooth extraction? if no then how long should i wait? i have heard from friends you can vape through the nose and it wont affect you?

: The problem with nicotine is that it gets into your bloodstream &amp; goes to the tiny blood vessels that decide how fast you heal. It constricts/narrows them reducing blood flow. If you don't care how long it takes to heal vape and ignore the risk. If you wan to get past this quicker take a break for a few weeks until you decide healing is coming along fine. The nose thing is a myth.

7 days: Your doctor is correct. Vaping after a tooth extraction is not recommended for one week, because vapor can reduce saliva that promotes healing. Also the suction that may disturb the clot  and cause a dry sockets. Take care.

3 days to one week: Pain usually intensifies for about three days post-operatively, and then should gradually diminish in a week..  Strong pain lasting longer may indicate osteitis or infection.

Leaving a root tip of an abscessed tooth is likely to become a problem if it is not removed. Leaving a small root tip of an asymptomatic wisdom tooth is less likely to be a problem.

Depends: What are you ill with?  If it is a simple cold it should be fine. If it is something more serious then maybe not. You could call your doctor for a final opinion since your doctor knows you and your condition better than anyone else.
