Get checked.: Strep throat does not always present with painful swallowing or a fever.  In fact it only presents classically in about 60% of kids and 30% of adults.  There are lots of atypical presentations for this disease.  So with a white patch, it is worth getting a culture.  If it does not go away in a week or so,, get checked for other possibilities.

Inflammation: As your body fights an infection, the tonsils (back of throat) are one of the major trafficking sites for your immune system to recognize and fight off infections. Generally, redness, swelling is a visible sign that the cells in the area are releasing cytokines (chemical communications) to cause your blood vessels to dilate and immune cells to slip through and infiltrate the involved tissues.

Consider symptoms: Usually strep throat has only sore throat and swollen lymph nodes in the neck. I it is viral ( much more common) it is often accompanied by nasal congestion or cough.

i have a blood red splotch around my uvula-it doesn't hurt, it could be from coughing a lot, should i get it checked out?

Uvula: I would wait a few days to see if the redness subsides. If there is associated pain or swelling, then go see your physician or an Otolaryngologist for evaluation and advice.

Uvula edema: Hello, the swelling of the uvula will take some time for resolution. The uvula lies in a dependent position. The timing will also depend on the degree of swelling. In my practice, i prescribe steroids. If you are having trouble swallowing or breathing, you'll obviously need to be seen in an er.  Good luck and i hope this helps.

the back of my tongue like where my uvula is but on my tongue is like a light brown and at the edge of the brown is a light red line around it but the front of my tongue is normal. it wasn't like this this morning i ate school provided food?

: May I suggest that you brush your teeth and tongue really well and then check to see how it is tomorrow morning.  Don't forget to floss.

UVULA: First, it can be simply normal for you especially if you have no symptoms.
However, some people get large and swollen ones when either allergic to something or a possible infection or actually also from snoring as the uvula bangs back and forth and gets traumatized.

Uvula: The uvula can get infected.  Either from a virus or bacteria.  Allergies can also cause that would be a look to swell.

what is white chunky stuff on my uvula it makes me feel like a loose skin back there but not hurts when i eat and the sides of my throats are red?

Dead skin: The white chunky stuff is basically the equivalent of dead skin, probably caused by an infection. It'll slough off when the infection clears.
