nervous about repeat c section. itll be #4. my last was 3.5 yrs. dr said my uterus &scar is great & just space em. husband wants 2 mor. wat r the risk?

If you were my pt: I would tell you this should be your last one, even though it looked good last time you could have scar tissue  now, your doc will tell u that, the more u have the more chance that the placenta can stick to the scar and then u need emergency csection- hysterectomy- very dangerous, also the more u have the more chance of uterine atony afterwards and the more chance uterine rupture and chronic pain.

i hv been diagnosed with cyst in uterus on the scar site hv had a c-section delivery 3months back with my 1st baby at age of 36yrs my problem is constant pelvic pain and continuous bleeding from past 19days?

Fibroid: It is likely a uterine fibroid. If you are not breast feeding you may be having your period.  That is if the pain is due to the bleeding.  It is likely not a problem to your health unless you get anemic from bleeding; consider resuming a birth control pill and use 2 Aleve (naproxen) 2x per day.  If painful urination or up more than 2x per night to pee might have a bladder infection creeping in.

been having sharp pain in my uterus worse under my c-section scar it also feels sore when i stand up and sit down what may be the cause? not on period

Bladder infection: A great explanation for pain exactly where you are describing would be a bladder infection.  Go in for a urine test and exam to see if this is possible.

Adenomyosis: Adenomyosis is when the blood lining of the endometrium invades the muscle of the uterus. It can cause the uterus to become enlarged, boggy, and painful. It is also associated with heavy abnormal bleeding.  

Endomteriosis with when that same lining travels to other places in the body. 

The MRI description could describe both of these.

37 with previous csection w/uterine window. since c i have heavy periods/spot lasting 10 days. my endo lining was 13.7mm day 10.  could scar be issue?

Possibly: Bleeding irregularity can come from problems in C-section scars but this is not that common. Your doctor could do a hysteroscopy and easily examine it as well as the rest of the uterine cavity. Management will depend on your future fertility plans.

why would a 30 year old c-section scar itch?

Accepted Answer

Uncommon: Sometimes, women feel an incision will "itch" after a c-section.  As long as there aren't any signs of redness or swelling around the incision, it usually just means that the incision is healing.  In your case, it is uncommon for it to itch so many years after surgery.  Speak to your physician and have it examined.

Usually 6 weeks: Skin, muscles & tissues usually heal back to full strength in 6 weeks. Infected wounds take much longer. Skin nerves (numb or tingly near the scar) & final cosmetic appearance of scar may continue to slowly improve for up to a year. You can usually resume full normal activity after 6 weeks, but most women feel like it takes up to 6 months to "get their body back" after childbirth of any kind.

Scar: The C-section scar is located in a sensitive area and can remain sensitive over time for several reasons, pulling onto the fascia, excess scar tissue, skin folds, nerve dysfunction. If massage and local injections of anesthetics don't help, you may want to consider a scar revision.

Need more info...: I am always apprehensive when i hear the words "scar tissue" and "pain" in the same sentence.  Adhesions are a very common by-product of abdominal and pelvic surery and usually cause no symptoms whatsoever.  Furthermore, they can only be seen surgically:  not on physical exam, not by x-rays or u/s. I advise you to see your ob/gyne or primary care doctor to help sort out the cause of your pain.
