I would not worry: Most people have one ehrlich unit, the scale goes up to ten, and an athlete often has some hemolysis (just from feet pounding the pavement ('runner's hemolysis'). If your routine labs are otherwise normal, and your personal physician isn't concerned, i wouldn't be either. Hemolysis -- recycling red cells early -- raises urinary urobilinogen.

Useless test: This test is not of any value. So you do not have to worry about any value in the urine. If you have any concerns, get a liver function tests(LFTs) panel done. This is what can reflect in the urine but it is better to go to the source of the potential problem than indirect testing in the urine.

Possible UTI: Moderate Leukocytosis could be Urinary tract infection if Nitritr and or Leukocyte Esterase positive. To make sure Liver Function is ok get a LFT or Liver Function test mild urobilinogen elevation is not a big concern as long as Billirubin level is normal!

Any symptoms?: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your lab results are not a cause for concern. You did not say if you have any symptoms; do you?

Stop worrying: Miss a meal and ketones will pop up in your urine. We check only to see if your ketonuria is massive. You're supposed to have some urobilinogen there as well, and while this is a bit above some reference ranges, if your liver function tests and red cell count are normal i wouldn't give it another thought.

i been going to urgent care for on an off bv symptoms now recently i went an they told me i had 4 urobilinogen in urine i ask them if it was in it before an they said yeah since december it went from 2 to 4 , is that normal or should i be worried ?

Liver enzymes: While it is encouraging that these urinary tests are normal, they are not enough to ensure that your liver is healthy by themselves. If your doctor recommended routine screening tests of your liver, the blood tests are the only way to go. I would not worry; the vast majority of the people having a routine screening have completely normal liver tests. Good luck.

hi i recently took a urine test. results were as follows; s.g. 1.028 ph 5.5 slightly increased urobilinogen amounts, pus cells 4-6/h.p.f. and positive for epithelial cells. everything else was nil and normal. what does this mean? does it mean a uti?

: First was this a clean catch mid stream urine that was tested. If no do one.  Epithelial cells are normal in urine. The come from the bladder and other parts of the urinary track and are shed as they wear out and new ones replace them. Does not mean at UTI.  Only a culture of a clean catch can document that.

ua results leukocytes ++, urobilinogen +, everything else negative. kdiney pain flank pain hurts when dr taps on kidneys pee burns frequency, 6 cultures repeat normal flora. hiw can this not be a kidney infection?

: Bad urine collection to test for infection or it may be a bladder stone.
