Collect fluid: Try and collect a sample of the actual discharge into a sterile container such as a baby food jar or sterile specimen bottle you can get from a local pharmacy and have that tested for both it is as well as what it's growing.  If they have not done an ultrasound of the prostrate they might consider that as an option.

: If the kidney function tests are OK and there is no protein in the urine then observation with periodic retesting is recommended. Micro hematuria has many reasons some difficult to identify.

Many things: this test detects normal amounts of albumin frequently as 30 mg/dl. I suggest a first morning void, if elevated then check a protein/creatinine ratio. Nephrology consultation may be needed, Causes, glomerulonephritis, interstitial disease, myeloma, infectin, nephrotic syndrome, diabetes, hypertension. Urologist: My suggestion is to make an appointment with a urologist. Your symptoms can be caused by many different conditions, some benign and some serious. Failure of this kidney will have dire consequences. Please call for an appointment asap.

Creatinine of 17?: Are you sure that your aunt's creatinine (c) is 17, not 1.7? If her c is 17, she should be on dialysis. A biopsy would not be done in someone that high a c. If the c is 1.7, it seems that she had a glomerulonephritis, the cause of which needs to be determined for a diagnosis and prognosis.  The best way to get more information about your aunt is to call the doctor who ordered the renal biopsy.

Possible kidney dis: Mild increase in serum creatinine as in this case suggests possible mild kidney disease. To investigate, you need at least a thorough physical exam and urinalysis
