in old age my father is suffering from urinary burning and tested for infection found negative. responding to pregabalin and illwil tab. what is nreas?

See remark: As a practicing urologist for more than 40 yrs,I have not heard of the medications you mentioned,are they herbal? Is your father 54 yrs? or you are 54 ?
Can you better describe his symptoms,is his burning 
accompanted by frequency,slow stream etc..

Dysuria: May be due to an organisms that is not culturable (virus, mycobacteria, chlamycial, fungal or schistosomal)  as well there are non infectious causes including chemical (dietary citrates), autoimmune, hypersensitivity reactions, radiation induced, stone formation, and the worst case scenario, a bladder tumor.  See a urologist for a full evaluation.

Urinary frequency: Any irritation or obstruction can cause urinary frequency - there doesn't need to be an infection per se.  A UTI is the most common cause and can usually be identified by urinalysis.  An "overactive bladder is a common diagnosis, but retention of urine is often another common cause.  Neurologic irritation can cause frequent voiding and interstitial cystitis/bladder ca, too. Needs to be ruled out.

Yes: Particularly if this is upper tract uti, but either way it is possible.  If you suspect you have this, see a doctor.  Hope this turns out to be nothing serious.  Get better.

UTI: Yes. One need not have burning on urination although that is very common., .

Continued : Continued burning could mean that your infection did not clear up from the antibiotic, or it could be that you have another type of infection or a yeast infection.  You should be re-evaluated by your doctor.  If you get pain, vomiting, or fever then you will need an emergency evaluation.

Yeast infection?: Vaginal itching/burning and a cottage cheese-like discharge could be signs of a vaginal yeast infection. You can try using over the counter yeast infection medication (like miconazole) if you have these symptoms. If the symptoms persist after this treatment, or if you are experiencing any pain, it should be evaluated by a doctor since it could mean a different diagnosis.

i had a urine test and came back normal  complaining a burning sensation and discomfort no infection dr ordered  a culture test don't know what for?

More sensitive test.: A urine culture is a much more sensitive test for bacterial infection in the urine. Tests in the clinic like a urine dipstick analysis look for indirect signs of infection (i.e. Nitrites and leukocyte esterase), but may miss a uti. In addition, a culture test will reveal which antibiotic is best to treat the infection if one is detected.

twice i have had bad urinary burning 24 hrs after receiving cortisone injs in periformis and my si joint. is this normal??

Not normal: Cortisone injection into the piriformis would not cause burning on urination. The usual cause in females is a urinary tract infection (UTI), have your doctor perform a urinalysis test.

i experienced a chemical burn via terconazole for a yeast infection. tests show no infection now but i'm still burning on/off. how long to heal?

Consult prescribing: physician: this should not be occurring, unless you are allergic/sensitive to the ingredients in the medication.
