Chronic inflamation: Cystitis is by definition an inflammation/infection of the bladder. Chronic cystitis is just what it says, a long term inflammation which has resulted over a long term in thickening of the bladder wall.

: Bladder wall thickness , if uniform, develops over time when there is an obstruction to the outflow of urine, in any area from the neck of the bladder to the tip of the urinary tube and relatively rare in females.. Cystitis is an inflammation of the lining of the bladder and does not cause such thickening. Pl see a Urologist for proper management.

Sometimes early in life bladder does not develop to full capacity.
