: When you urinate the epithelial lining could come with the urine and it does not mean anything bad. The ph is a reflection of what was excreted which means it is alkaline to keep the body stable things have to be removed. The important thing is the culture was negative, however you did not mention why it was done and how you are doing which is more important.

: Prob normal.  Always repeat  a dipstick and microscopic urine test to confirm is my advice. Could be just a bit dehydrated when urine collected.  That is you put out a more concentrated urine which can influence many things in urine testing.  Then if they differ do another one and take best or 3.  Then discuss with your Dr as they should know you better than we do. Such a why urine was done?

Colony count: The lab will count the colonies of bacteria on the culture plate. The accepted number for infection is 100, 000 colonies. A few bacteria is normal.

Chronic inflammation: You could have a more chronic inflammation, such as interstitial cystitis rather than an acute infectious cystitis.  Interstitial cystitis requires more ongoing treatment and can be very uncomfortable. Interpretation: A physician (P) ordered both the urine analysis and the urine culture. As I do not know the results, you need to ask the P who ordered the tests what the results were and how they will affect you. Good luck.

Culture if needed: It means the lab will process the urine for culture if they find white blood cells on the urinalysis.

Blood in urine: Despite the normal urinalysis, the presence of visible blood in the urine warrants a thorough evaluation of your urinary tract.  You could easily be passing a stone but a more serious problem needs to be excluded.  See a urogist!

See below: The presence of blood on the tissue paper when wiping after urination usually indicative of either a urological (urethra or bladder) or gynecological (vagina or cervix) source. A normal urinalysis and negative urine culture would "tend" to rule out a urological source. Would recommend you first see a gynecologist for a good visual pelvic exam, STD screening if sexually active, and Pap smear.

Urethral syndrome?: Some UTIs are limited to the urethra, i.e. not involving the bladder, called urethral syndrome. Urinalysis often is normal, with few or no white blood cells; and urine culture also negative, with fewer bacteria than most UTIs. Other things also could do this, e.g. irritation from vaginal perfumes, spermicide, yeast infection, condom (latex) allergy, and more. Discuss with your doctor. Good luck!
