Bladder infection: or cystitis is most likely the cause for a 21 yr old female , see your doctor to get urine checked , if it is infection your doctor will give appropriate antibiotic , mean while  drink plenty of water

Maybe (not) . . .: Kidney infection is a type of urinary tract infection (bladder infection is other). All utis typically cause painful frequent urination w/sense of urgency. But chronic kidney disease will not do so. Diabetes mellitus & insipidus along w/diuretics can cause frequent urination. Overactive bladder can cause urgency plus frequency. Go see your family doc for evaluation.

i have had urgency to urinate and been unable to fully empty my bladder for two months. no pain , sometimes urine is very dark..?

Drink more  fluids!: You need to drink enough water so that your urine is clear and if it is dark  that means you have not drank enough water.  Water is the best because most other fluids have other stuff in it that  is not needed; like sugar,  caffeine;  you also need to see your family doctor to make sure you don't have a urinary tract infection.  A ua is easy and can be done at your doctors office or a lab.

Urgency: The frequent desire to urinate despite low bladder volumes can come from problems within the bladder, like inflammation and infection, things outside of the bladder like spinal injury, excessive nicotine or caffeine use, or it can be idiopathic, without a clearly identifiable cause. A simple history, physical examination and urinalysis can start your physician down the path towards figuring it out.

Sounds like UTI, but: The symptoms suggest urinary tract infection (UTI), but UTI is rare in men except for those who have other problems, such as enlarged prostate. So other possibilities, such as prostatitis, prostate cancer, pelvic mass, bladder cancer, etc., have to be considered. This problem is unlikely to just go away. See either a primary care physician or urologist soon.

Continue evals: Continue to see your dr for an evaluation of the urgency as uti's are not the only thing that may lead to this symptom.  High sugar levels, and diabetes for example, may cause you to have urgency or even go often.  Good luck.

You may need: to get examined again for a UTI, possibly from yeast or some bacteria that do not respond to the antibiotic you took for Chlamydia.  You will need a urine test and proper examination to rule out other causes.  It is still most likely a UTI.  Thanks for trusting in HealthTap.
