my daughter is having pain and slight swelling in her upper left quadrant. it is below rib cage. what could that be?

Spleen or ribs: It can be hard to tell the cause of pain in this region of the body. Teenagers with mono can get an enlarged spleen and have pain from that. Another possibility is pain from the cartilage connected to the ribs ie costochondritis. The lowest ribs have more cartilage than the others that can really get inflamed. (i've had it) the best treatment is motrin. To be sure i would get checked soon.

i have swelling in the lower right quadrant of my abdomen, but no real pain. it isn't constant, but is on and off daily. what could this be?

i have swelling over the top of my ribs on my upper left quadrant. i felt a sharp pain when i was doing deadlifts yesterday. i am very concerned i may have injured my spleen. if i had injured my spleen would there be swelling above my ribs?

No: If you injured your spleen, unlikely, you won't have swelling above your ribs, and the sharp pain you felt can be very well be musculoskeletal (muscle, ligament or bone),  rest the area, apply warm compresses, and take pain killers. See your doctor for further evaluation, best wishes
