Most are viral: Most URI are viral and will clear on their own.  Use tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for fever or aches, robitussin... You may cough, bring up colored phlegm.. this is not usually dangerous.  If it doesn't clear, or if you have a sore red throat, you may need an antibiotic - your Dr will have to exam you.  If you have immune system disorders or chronic diseases, see your Dr. early...

Sounds Normal: Tiredness, fatigue, & muscle ache (especially if you had a fever & shivered) are very common with upper respiratory infections.  What's more it's likely that you didn't eat or exercise as well as you usually do.

R/O PERICARDITIS: You may have inflammation of the heart=PERICARDITIS vs inflammation of the lungs =PLEURITIS.  Myocarditis is much more serious and can be suggested by an abnormal echo. Often they are post viral.They tend to resolve with rest/hydration /NSAID(indocin)  if it persists as course of prednisone may be needed. You need a prompt evaluation EKG/CXR AND LABS. See your doctor for eval.

Not relevant.: You have mentioned three problems which have no relation to each other. Autism is basically how her mind is arranged and is a disorder of thinking, senses and language. Mrsa infections are staph and hers sound like they are skin related. Finally URI is a virus infection of the nose, throat, ariways or sinuses.

Widw variation: It can be days to months, unfortunately. Conservative care eventually and usually gets rid of the problem.. If one could only hold ones breathe indefinitely it wouldn't hurt.  As that is not possible, then patience is the only thing we can hope for.

Not likely: Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase is an enzyme that has control of gluconeogenesis, not immunity, although there may be secondary effects due to to the hemolysis and lack of energy substrate it can have an effect on...

i have permanent post nasal drip throughout the year (summer is my only break but i still have some phlegm sometimes). dairy aggravated it so i cut it out in feb but was still sick the entire winter with upper resp infections. help :(?

Allergies.: That sounds like allergies.  Nasal congestion, runny nose, cough, headache, facial pains and earache can be triggered by fragrances, dust mites, grass, trees, pets, environmental molds and such.  There are outdoor and indoor allergens.  See a doctor soon, here or locally, as there are medications that may help.  You may also benefit from allergy testing to identify your triggers.

Having : Having shaking chills is concerning for a bacterial infection.  Some patients, especially as they get older, do not have fevers.  Therefore it is important that he be immediately evaluated to be sure he doesn't have pneumonia, a urinary tract infection, or other type of bacterial infection.
