Any human being: could be wrong, but if you are not satisfied with your doctor's diagnosis, you should get another opinion.  It sounds like a musculo-skeletal problem, so maybe an orthopedic surgeon might be able to confirm the diagnosis for you.

Upper back pain: If the pain has been ongoing for the past seven months and persists despite physical therapy then it is likely not a pulled muscle. Pain that limits physical activities warrants imaging of the cervical and thoracic spine. See a spine specialist to find the cause and to develop a treatment plan.

i keep getting left arm pain between shoulder and elbow. i have osteoarthritis in the neck. is that why?

Possibly: You could have an arthritic bone spur pushing on a nerve causing pain in that area.  The other cause that is common is to have a rotator cuff problem in your shoulder that can often cause a referred pain in that area.  A detailed exam can usually determine the cause, don't hesitate to be seen.

Arm discomfort: Left arm discomfort may occur as a reffered symptom in coronary events, but classically, when it's recurrent,  there is a pattern of it being brought on by exertion and often has associated chest discomfort, sweats,nausea,shortness of breath and is relieved by resting. Elbow tendonitis, is more likely in your case, especially if it's affected by elbow motion and is tender. See MD for exam.

More info: In general, if the symptoms change with eating, it is likely gi.  If the discomfort getw worse with physical activity, cardiac causes may need to be considered.  If it gets worse worse with movement of your shoulder or arm, it may be musculoskeletal or a pinched nerve.  See your doctor.

Tingling: Several problems. May be pulled muscle in neck or scapular region. Also sounds like a pinched nerve of the lower neck, possible pinched ulnar nerve at the elbow, too.

Nerve compression: Sounds like a compressive neuropathy of the upper extremity. I think an evaluation by an orthopedic surgeon is reasonable. Sounds like you need an EMG to find out where the nerve is compressed. Could be at the neck or a more peripheral site. An EMG would show that.

Possible : There is no perfect test, and it is possible to have heart pain with a normal ECG. Best to also check blood tests with this, and consider other tests such as a stress test if symptoms persistent. Anxiety however is still a possibility, especially with the stress you may be under dealing the the earthquake. Hope this helps!
