A member asked:

Upper back pain on left side that also causes left arm pain above elbow. i fell 7 months ago and primary doc says muscle. can my back muscle hurt this long? i can not do physical activities bc of pain

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Upper back pain: If the pain has been ongoing for the past seven months and persists despite physical therapy then it is likely not a pulled muscle. Pain that limits physical activities warrants imaging of the cervical and thoracic spine. See a spine specialist to find the cause and to develop a treatment plan.
