Muscle: Bending the neck stretches the upper back and posterior neck musculature which in your case could be too tight or strained from certain exercises or activities. Perhaps massage therapy would help the problem resolve. If you're doing exercises that are straining these structures, you may have to avoid or modify them.

Upper back pain: is a very common problem, affecting about 10-12% percent of the adult population in the US leading to nerve problem. Nerve impingement can be caused by being sandwiched between two spinal bones, pressed by a bulging disc or encroached upon by bony overgrowth. Rec.: see an interventional pain management specialist. It is a conservative non-surgical treatment.

hi i am 18 and i am having some upper back pain on both sides when i bend my head forward. the pain is felt inside. i started having the pain 2 days ago while trying to lift up a chute at work, and it turned out to be too heavy. what can i do?

: Counterintuitive as it may seem, regular exercise will help. Raising core body temperature through exercise will both strengthen your muscles and make those more flexible. Any exercise will do, walking, jogging, cycling, treadmill, elliptical will do. You should exercise at least 150 minutes/week. Drink enough water so your urine is mostly colorless.
Get HPV vaccine.

Not usually.: But possible.  The pain of pe is often worse with inspiration but not always.  Pe is often one sided but again not always. Would expect a bilateral pe to produce some problems with breathing.

Not sure: Pain in the areas listed are common and difficuilt to pinpoint as to cause. Muscles, tendons, joints, disks have all been 'blamed' for such symptoms. Overuse, inflammation, trauma, stress can all be potential sources. If you are not improving with time, exercise, over the counter medication, see your primary doctor or a spinal doctor.

14 yr f. severe daily upper back pain on both sides, radiating down both arms and into stomach ever since surgery to remove ovarian tumor 4/15/16. ??

Severe pain: If you are in severe pain then immediately evaluation is needed. If the pain has been going on for one month then it seems you are long past due for evaluation. Start with your surgeon who did your surgery who can evaluate with a  physical exam and testing.

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. . Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. If it does not help it would be prudent to see a doctor.

Muscular secondary: Sounds like pain radiating from the spine  to the ribs , so you feel it on the sides.  Muscle spasms are usually secondary in the spine, due to an underlying inflammatory condition.

Muscle or nerve: A thorough physical is needed to diagnose the cause of your pain. However any pain in that region can be traced down to inflammation or traumatic injury of the soft tissues there (skin,  muscle, nerve ) unless the pain is inside the thorax or around the lungs (inflammation of the pleura or lung covering)
