Confusing question: Your question is confusing.  The best way to tell if you have an underactive thyroid is to get a blood test to measure a free T4 and TSH level.  Symptoms of low thyroid are nonspecific and can be related to multiple other causes.  Having a low thyroid can increase menstrual bleeding.

i am 37 with an underactive thyroid. i am trying for a baby an have came on today after having lots of symptoms an my period being 8 days late making cycke 34 days previous was 28, 22 how do i know when i'm ovulating with cycle like this. i'm so frustrate

Frustrating: Sorry, it can be frustrating for sure. Step 1) is your underactive thyroid corrected? See a doctor to be sure. Step 2) try using a home OPK for the next month or two, start testing maybe 12 days from the start oe your period and see if it helps you. Step 3) see a gynecologist or fertility doctor as soon as you'd like - call today if you want - for help!

Yes: Underactive and untreated hypothyroidism can cause late or delayed menstrual cycles.  The thyroid has no relationship, however, to the formation of an ovarian cyst.  Your cyst, at 10cm, is at risk of rupturing or turning on itself, called torsion.  Have you spoken to a doctor about having the cyst drained or removed?  No roller coasters, i've seen patients with big cysts get torsion from a coaster.

a friend suggested i take maca liquid herbal extract - a few drops of it in water/smoothie to help underactive thyroid, esp before & after period. ok?

No value: If you have an underactive thyroid you need thyroid hormone replacement not maca liquid herbal extract.

The dose of thyroxine may not be optimized early in its use and you need your doctor to keep an eye on your dose.

If you are already taking thyroid you should take it at bedtime at least one hour after your last feed.

More details: This is not a clear cut scenario. You will need to see an obgyn who can look at all of your lab results. Thyroid disease can certainly mess up menstrual cycles. Until that is control your cycles may not be normal. FSH and LH are better hormones to check than Estrogen and Progesterone at age 26. More conclusions can be made with those tests
