we just moved to a new house and my 5yr old daughter is having an allergic reaction to something we still cant figure out. her under eyes get a little swollen itchy eyes and small itchy dots all over her cheeks and hairline. been giving her zyrtec?

: Consider a HEPA unit for your home. Keep all areas dry and clean, avoid smoke and pet dander. Do you have new pets? or new soap/lotion/bathing products? Her symptoms and rash indicate a possible allergic reaction. Rinse nasal passages and eyes gently with saline, after discussion with your Pediatrician.  Allergy testing recommended. Watch for shortness of breath, cough and wheezing.

Allergen testing: If very allergic, decrease salt, allergen exposure at minimum and test for them

Accepted Answer

May be: If the circle are from edema/swelling then it may go away after the treatment.  Allergy is the most common cause of the of this type of problem.  The bags under the eye could be from fat prolapse which may not go away unless its treated cosmetically by surgery, laser or rf.

Rash: Rash under eyes may be from eczema or allergies
Blepharitis - inflammation of eye lids may also cause dry rash of the lids

i have a tyerd under-eye problem dark & puffy i deal w/allergies i take meds for them, but i still look so tyerd is there anything else i can do?

Keep nose open: Dark circles under eyes (allergic shiners) are often associated with nasal congestion which is not relieved with antihistamine alone. If you have allergies, a nasal steroid would work better. If not helpful, consult an allergist to find out the cause.

Hard to tell!: Good morning, 
in a child with cystic fibrosis cold and allergy symptoms are as common with other children. The difference as you are aware, is the difficulty in deciding if there is any infection of the lungs along with symptoms of allergy. If there is no fever, and the secretions are color-less, and if the child does not look sick it is likely that it is only due to allergy.

started using new under eye concealer 3 days ago. burning, itching skin under eyes and under brow line. swollen and red. small bumps. no allergies.

Contact allergy: A 3-day lapse in onset is compatible with an allergic contact skin reaction.  However one cannot rule out entirely an irritant reaction from repetitive exposure to a mild irritant in the eye concealer.  Try OTC hydrocortisone cream for a few days and see if this helps.

Could be: There are many things  that cause the eyes to  water. The most common is dry eyes, which in it self has many etiologies. If the eyes do not itch then it is probably not allergies. Antihistamine es taken for allergies can cause the eye to dry out and water. Try artificial tear drops, can buy over the counter.

Side effects: It sounds more like a adverse effects of the medication but not an allergic reaction. If the medication you are taking has anticholinergic property, it will cause dry mouth, dry eyes. If it crosses the blood brain barrier, it can cause drowsiness. Medication allergies can presents with a variety of symptoms: hives, skin rashes, fever, abdominal pain, join pain, or anaphylaxis...

for the past 3 days i have noticed under my eyes it was swollen and itchy. at times it would even get flaky . is it an allergic reaction?

Possibly yes: It could be eczema. It is hard to diagnose it without looking at it but eczema is a skin rash that is dry, red, flakey and itchy. It responds to steroid creams but use steroids on the face cautiously as it may cause side effects like thinning the skin and color change.
