: Those CT findings should not be the cause of your unbearable pain. You need to have a thorough assessment with a complete history and physical exam (H &amp; P) for the correct diagnosis. Unfortunately, urgent care or ER practitioners are relying too much in radiology imaging techniques nowadays.

Most likely OK: An under distended bladder on an ultrasound does not denote a problem. More often pathological lesions are better visualized on ultrasound when the bladder is full however.   If the ordering physician is concerned about a potential bladder lesion (tumor, stone, blood in urine, etc.) then cystoscopy should be performed by a urologist regardless of what the ultrasound shows.

Probably not: By a distended bladder I take it they are referring to the urinary bladder. Phleboliths are literally vein stones, and represent calcification within venous structures. They are particularly common in the pelvis. These are benign incidental findings on x-rays and CT scans.

Full bladder: It means that the bladder is full.  When the fetus empties the bladder, that fluid is the called amniotic fluid.  In rare cases the fetus cannot empty the bladder.  Then the bladder becomes over distended which can damage the bladder. The pressure in the bladder can also lead to fetal kidney damage.

Liters: A normal bladder would be massively distended with 1000 ml urine. I have seen abnormally distended  bladders such as chronically distened from obstruction, with hypotonic neurogenic bladder, after intestinal bladder augmentation or prune belly syndrome hold in xs of 2000 ml.

Need attention: It depends on the cause. Like in older men with enlarge prostate (bph), then surgery is an option, but if it is due to spinal cord damage (neurogenic bladder) I do not think that if surgery is an option.
Talk to a urologist.

: Distended bladder is doctor speak for it is full. The language does not imply anything bad.

Accepted Answer

Means "go pee": Distended means stretched. Your bladder holds urine. So at the time of the test, your bladder was partially full. That is all it says. Sorry, the hematuria must be evaluated by your dr and no answer is attached to the information provided.
