i had a recent ct scan showing no damage to the pelvis or penile arteries. all i have is a small umbilical hernia. what is the likely cause of my ed? i'm 31 years old male, testosterone under/around 400. 5'9 160 pounds. cannot get full erection?

: There are many reasons for ED including hormonal disruptions, poor diet, stress, medications, etc. These issues do not show up on a CT scan. I would follow up with a family doctor to thoroughly investigate the list of potential triggers.

: Usually and umbilical hernia will not have pain that radiates to the penis. You may have a problem with your groin, such as a hydrocele or a problem with the epididymis, or perhaps an inguinal hernia. You should see your primary care doctor or a urologist to be evaluated. Good luck.

can a car accident i was involved in have caused my newborn daughters umbilical hernia?

I wouldn't think so: Loose belly muscles help a developing baby by allowing easy blood flow thru the umbilical cord ; into babies body. After birth, that loosness may allow a transient umbilical hernia that will usually disappear when the belly muscles tighten, starting after baby learns to sit.By 2yo most uh have receded. I find girls more likely to need repair than boys ? Reason.I rarely refer for repair.

: You've described a patient with 3 separate conditions, COVID, pancreatitis and an umbilical hernia requiring surgery.  There is really not information to guide you expect that if the surgery is in regards to pancreatitis, it may be because the patient is having severe pancreatitis with abscess or infection in the abdomen that require surgical management. No: GERD is a somewhat natural event for those who ingest caffeine, nicotine or who lay down after eating. The stomach entrance is a weak fold of tissue, for some more than others &amp; backwash of stomach contents is aggravated by these dietary choices &amp; behaviors. Umbilical hernias are an isolated separate issue. Alter your diet &amp; this may improve. Treatment is also available.

if my daughter's umbilical hernia becomes temporarily incarcerated and causes some discomfort should i take her in to the er after it has released?

Depends: On what it took to reduce it.  Usually an umbilical hernia will protrude but be readily pushed back in with little effort.  If she had a very hard mass protruding and the hernia is small then there may be a risk for incarceration but if it has reduced (i.e. gone back in) she is safe.  Most hernias have almost constant protrusion as depicted. They usually close  on their own over time.

28 months ago i had a s/p primary, non mesh repair for a 0.5 x 0.5 cm umbilical hernia without complications during / after the procedure. due to diet / exercise have lost 20 lbs of weight. could weight loss contribute / cause recurrence of hernia?

Umbilical hernia: Usually sticks out at belly button area and usually will not cause your abdomen to indent.  Show it to your doctor to be sure.
