i just had a ua w micro test done.  the blood portion resulted as  abnormal and says *trace-intact.  the rbc's also say abnormal and has an * 3-7.  ?

Urinalysis: relevance depends on the type of symptoms and specimen.  A cathed specimen should not have blood in it.  If this is a clean catch it is common for women to have some blood in their urine.  Kidney stones and urinary tract infection can cause you to have some blood in your urine.

Proteinuria: Of course the amount of protein in your urine,as determined by analysis of protein amount in an accurate 24 hour urine collection, is very important. A nephrologist is best qualified to evaluate,advise and treat you for significant proteinuria. Appropriate tests will be ordered.

See a urologist : If your urine is clean and your GYN examination is normal then you need to see a urologist to make sure you are emptying the bladder every time you urinate by checking the residual volume . If it is high that will explain the pain if not at least they can figure out what else causing this pain that get relieved by urination

my culture said mixed urogenital flora 25-50k with no bacterial growth. my micro ua showed 5-10wbc and few bacteria. it wasnt a clean catch. i wasnt given antibiotics but im concerned about the wbc in my urine.what else could cause them?

: The UA and uric culture results are not specific enough to raise concern, basically,  urine sample was contaminated with flora of bacteria from vagina or skin.  If you are experiencing urinary symptoms such as uncomfortable voiding, frequency, etc., you should have a  culture of  clean catch or catheterized urine specimen.

adding culture results. recent uti, follow up ua. finished 10 d bactrim. culture i occult blood 1+. micro ua; wbc 25phf, bac few, occult 1+, leukocytes 3+. do i still have a uti? btw, i am 80 yrs old. thank you very much?

: There are still signs of inflammation but it does not mean the infection is still active if you are symptoms free and urine culture is negative. Most of the time, we do not recheck the urine unless patient has persistent symptoms after an antibiotic course. You were, in fact, received a relatively long course of bactrim so I assume you were treated for a suspected upper urinary tract infection.

hx of ic 30 years. micro (most ua samples) & gross hematuria (2 times last 3 years)&3 utis (e-coli last 3 months). ct w/o contrast 3 years go. recently cystos with biopsy kub, ultra-all neg except kidney cyst &inflammation on cysto. enough testing?

As far as testing : can answer, that seems good. The likely conclusion, could be hematuria from IC, if pain, most likely.

Nothing: Just about every voided urine from a female washes a few cells from surrounding labia and vagina and skin.  Thus a few normal  Squamous epithelial cells.   Which are of no consequence.

Accepted Answer

Nothing: Some of the uric acid in your urine crystallized as it cooled. Many, maybe most, people have some of this stuff.
