Varies: It depends upon what medication you are talking about. In general, however, fastest absorption is the sublingual route, where the medication is placed under the tongue. Very few medications, however, are designed to be taken this way. Next fastest are usually the gel caps. Chewables actually have about the same absorption as solid pills. If wondering about a specific medication, ask pharmacist!

i accidentally took 2 claritin 24 hour gel tabs less than 12 hours apart- one morning one evening. any major issue?  i meant to take another medication in the morning and grabbed the wrong one.

Usually ok: Doubling Claritin for a day should not cause any noticeable difference. If it were Claritin-D, the D part is a decongestant and could increase one's heart rate a little bit. If worried, can check with one's primary care doctor.

Retinoids for acne: No one topical can typically manage hormonally driven acne in women but for any acne -- really for overall skin health -- using a prescription retinoid is very helpful.  Hormonally drive acne usually needs an overlay of treatment like spironolactone.

Chest pain: I assume there has been no recent injury. Since motion of the shoulder as well as a deep breath points to a chest wall strain, muscle inflammation or rib problem as a possible cause. Lung pathology would likely have associated cough. Add moist warm compresses,but if no improvement see a physician for evaluation and appropriate testing.

i was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis so my doctor put me on metronidazole gel for 5 days. i only took the medication for 3 days because my period came so i missed 2 days of it. should i start the medication again today and take the 2 days i miss?

Minutes to Hours: The crinone (progesterone gel) is absorbed throughout the day. This is why it is recommended to place the crinone (progesterone gel) in the morning so it can be absorbed through the day. It uses the warmth of the vaginal canal to assist in absorption.

If your worried about the left over residue it does not mean you didn't absorb the progesterone.

Yes: Yes , if it helps you and make you feel better,  sorry you are suffering for 8 years from this terrible disease, make sure go go for regular colonoscopy examination, incidence of malignancy increases with time, some intractable cases even may need a total colectomy , follow your doctor(s) advise.

Not very effective: Recurrent BV is very common. Unfortunately, vaginal metronidazole (BV Gel, Metrogel, etc) rarely works. If that's what you were treated with last time, it may be why the problem came back. You should contact your doctor, who probably will want to examine you to confirm the diagnosis. Ask about treatment with metronidazole by mouth. Also have STD testing if not yet done. BV can be a sign of STD.
