i'm a type 2 diabetic insulin dependent.   my sugar has been over 250 for the last 2 days. i tried apple cider vinegar to bring it down but that hasn't helped.  what should i do?

Call your doc: Your insulin needs to be adjusted accordingly. Many times, other conditions, such as infections among others make diabetes go uncontrolled and work up may be needed.

gastric bypass 4 yrs ago w/ no weight loss.  type 2 diabetic, insulin dependent, heavy alcohol use.  could these issues totally negate the surgery?

No weight loss: Your weight loss failure can be due to poor diet, excessive alcohol intact, . You need your anatomy evaluated to see if it is intact, recommend follow up with your gastric bypass surgeon, nutritionist.

No: Hi. At this point, insulin is still only available by injection. An inhaled insulin was recently approved by the FDA and should be available to the public soon. Oral insulin is being tested; too soon to say if it will work. There are a slew of other, non-insulin, drugs type 2's can use to treat their diabetes. The main thing is good control of the diabetes. Less: You will find the fewer carbs a day, the less Insulin you require. What matters more is that you are using enough Insulin to maintain very good control of sugars. You should also be consistent with carbs. Be realistic, dont eat nothing and be miserable, but it is also dangerous to eat too much then too little carbs which causes high highs and low lows. Try to eat consistent amount.

Maybe: Type diabetics can use Insulin safely at resonable doses.  Insulin is not anabolic.  Growth factor is anabolic, but is not insulin.  "inadequate" or "fake" growth factor may be ineffective and dangerous.  Consult a certified trainer or sports med physician.

The united kingdom prospective diabetes study (ukpds) demonstrated that this function continues to deteriorate over time despite treatment. That's why some type 2 pts need Insulin for control.

Have wellness life: Drink at least 8 - 8 oz glasses of water /day. Try for 8 hrs of sleep/night. Aim for at least 5 servings of vegetables &amp; 4 of fruit per day. Use whole grains. Avoid sodas, alcohol &amp; junk carbohydrates. Get in a good mix of aerobic &amp; strength training exercises.  Spend time in green spaces. Develop an attitude of gratitude. Take time for friends. Be mindful of yourself &amp; the world around you.

Not type 1?: Patients with type 1 diabetes can't miss Insulin for some time without getting seriously ill and even dying.
