please tell me, could a yeast infection cause light brown spotting?

Brown spotting is: Usually older, deoxygenated blood. Normally yeast infections don't cause bleeding and when they do would anticpate fresher blood. However, sometimes there can be a small amount of blood. Spotting from a hormone imbalance is a little bit more likely then yeast.

Low: the brn discharge  means that the path to uturus is still open slightly but risk is low.  To be extra cautious, wait until discharge stops.

Unlikely: The test results you provided suggest no pregnancy. If you intend to be pregnant or could become pregnant, you should consult an OB doctor for starting antenatal vitamins and ask her/him about exposure to nitrous oxide in very early pregnancy.

Maybe: Sometimes, depending on brand, &amp; whether you followed the instructions, &amp; other reasons, you may get  a false negative on a home pregnancy test. See your doctor for a blood test and to find out if you got anything besides the possibility of pregnancy from unprotected sex (STD's). Until then, assume you are pregnant &amp; no smoking, alcohol drugs, or over the counter meds except a vitamin with folate (folic acid).

Common: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections &  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

You might be.: Need to know that the one test can be a false positive. Need to wait several more days and then redo the test.

Do nothing: Repeat UPT. If negative pregnancy and no pain, wait for bleeding to occur. If no bleed within 4 weeks of the last spotting episode, consult physician to discuss desire for pregnancy vs need for menstrual regulation with hormonal preparation.

Infection...: This could be an infection so my advise is to go and see a gynecologist for exam and treatment. However, if very suspicious of pregnancy perhaps you should also repeat the pregnancy test in a few days( about a week).
