Quite common: There are many reasons for babies to have twitching or shaking movements. The common and benign startle response may look like twitching to many in the first couple of months, even in their sleep or with a slight if sound. It would be helpful to make a video and share with your pediatrician on your next visit to see if it requires any work up.

Possibilities: The "twitching" could be relatively benign, and if there is suspicion of seizure activity, an EEG would be indicated.  Discuss this with your pediatrician, as he/she will be better placed to guide you regarding your concerns.  But, in my perspective, epilepsy is far less likely than a benign situation.

so if twitching in my stomach but it is only on one side does that mean that they baby is on that side?

The other side: You will feel most kicks in the area where the feet are.  The body and head will be across your bellybutton from that spot.  For instance, if I were trying to listen for the baby's heart, I would ask where you feel the kicking then start by placing the doppler low and on the other side of your belly.  Of course, this varies a bit depending on how far along the pregnancy is.

Fetal movements: Most women begin to feel the movement of the baby around week 20. 11 weeks is too early to feel the movement. It is simply too small at that gestation.

Pregnant or Stool: The possibility of pregnancy is very real. Consider taking a pregnancy test to know for certain. Other causes may be simple peristalsis or intestinal contractions that help move the food  and gas through the bowels.

Pain can be caused: By many things.  Do you have any other symptoms like fever or nausea and vomiting?  Have you had any vaginal bleeding?  Call your OB for assistance.

Not unusual: Babies have a lot of dream sleep (REM sleep) and may move in many ways during sleep. I would be concerned if he's having rhythmic movement while awake that doesn't respond when you hold his arm or leg. That can be a sign of a seizure problem and should be checked by his doctor.

Gas in intestine: The sensation may be due to movement of gas in the intestine. Try changing your eating routine to see if that helps. If you lose weight, it would be prudent to see your doctor.
