i've very mild mvp. once in a while, i'll get pulls and tugs on d left side of my chest near d heart. it will sometimes last a few hours. is there cause for concern? wat wld usually cause these tugs? they come on suddenly

Not likely from MVP: The symptoms your describing are not likely to come from your mild mvp; most likely muscle spasm (intercostal--muscles in-between your ribs). If you are physically fit/active and able to exercise w/o difficulty, then it is even more reassuring that it is not heart related. Good, deep breathing exercises, stretching/chin-up type of activities may help. If persistent, consult doc. Good luck.

i have pain one right side of my chest. closer to the sternum, above the right nipple. it's like there's something tugging at the area. the middle of the upper back feels strained as well. but i have no difficulties breathing?

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor. What you described suggests muscular issue. Try getting regular exercise of sufficient intensity to raise your core body temperature, i.e. sweating, that will loosen the muscles.

my daughter is 12 weeks old and i started noticing last night that she was tugging at her right ear. this continued today and got so bad, she didn't want to feed on my left breast. her ear was in pain all day?

Compress/temp: Please monitor the baby's temperature, continue to nurse. If there is any fever more than 100.3 F rectally, please see your pediatrician right away. An exam is indicated to rule out an ear infection but other causes are possible in the absence of other signs of infection.. Watch for signs of congestion, cough and distress. Keep immunizations current.

Possibly it could be: Anxiety or panic attack. Go see ur dr or go to an urgent care if u r concerned about a heart condition or if u have risk factors- hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking, obesity. Take care!

Allergy?: But cannot give u a diagnosis of course. Only a possiblility. U will benefit from a medical check up & labs.  Pls keep track how often u feel this sensation & what is the context in which it happens.  Hope u will feel better soon!

Palpitations: Palpitations can be benign (simple skipped or extra beats) or can be a symptom of a more serious condition such as an SVT (supraventicular tachycardia). See your doctor and get an EKG done. Seek medical care urgently if you are passing out, or have episodes of a very fast heart rate (like over 140 beats/min).

Flutter symptom: Probably not a serious problem. Likely extra beats or intestinal gas. Can't tell from out here.

Chest pain: Chest pain can be due to many causes  including chest wall pain, lung, plural, heart, psychological &amp; gastrointestinal problems, so you need to see your 1ry care physician right away or go to ER. Feel better. Good luck.

Need more in info: Not an uncommon complaint. Not knowing your age and your general health you could have a couple of conditions that deserve investigation. I strongly advise you to see your family physician to have him/her examine you.
