TB test: If you were in close contact with an active case of tuberculosis and tested borderline or indeterminate, a second test maybe necessary in 8-10 weeks to completely rule out the disease. Since the test has limitations, 
screening for tuberculosis with igras or interferon-gamma release assays, has been recommended by the cdc especially for those who received bcg, are  homeless, and history drug abuse.

If you have risk factors, treatment of latent TB has become much easier in the last year.  If you are determined to have active TB you can be cured with 6 months of TB therapy.

Furthermore, anyone in the healthcare or first-responder job types should already have been checked for hep b immunity, even if just volunteering. So, ask the primary care doctor for an appointment.

PPD: Redness does not mean a positive test. There has to be a wheal or mosquito-bite type bump you can feel when gliding your finger over the test area. It may be a delayed hypersensitivity reaction or a contact dermatitis to the bandage. You may now obtain a blood test like Quantiferon Gold or T-SPOT interferon gamma release assays.

: Please call the allergist’s office to discuss with them. I think they will want to reschedule as the antihistamine might give a false negative result to the testing.
