Pap thyroid cancer: Very unlikely but your Endocrinologist will almost certainly check your thyroid levels every 3 -6 months. Levels should be OK.

No, don't worry!: Tsh is not made by thryoid cancer! it's made by your body to stimulate your thyroid to produce hormones. Tsh can stimulate thyroid cancer cells, too, so the medicine you take is to keep your TSH level as low as possible. The fact that your TSH has risen might be a sign that you need to take a higher dose of your medication. This is something you should ask your doctor about!

Q: had petscan showing no more thyroid cancer. dr says not accurate since my tsh was only .02 and shouldve been 30 for test. did i waste my time and $?

No cancer: Best way to know whether lesion of thyroid had recurred is head and neck exam. If nothing palpable in neck and PET scan neg which confirms no lesion being missed in neck or chest then there is no recurrence. A high TSH suggests all normal functioning thyroid removed and body via Pituitary trying to regrow any rmaining thyroid tissue. The TSH is not an indicator of malignancy.
