Likely the reverse: Although the mechanism of migraine is not fully understood, we do know that the dorsal nucleus of the trigeminal nerve does play a role in the process, and we do find symptoms over the face and neck which seem in the distribution of the trigeminal nerve sensory branches.  However, trigeminal neuralgia is not related whatsoever.

what is the difference between myalgia and myositis?

Some similarities : Myositis is actual inflammation of muscles which can occur from certain diseases, for example polymyositis or dermatomyositis. Myalgia is basically pain in muscle which can be caused by many things to include strain, after exercise, illness (like the flu), fibromyalgia, after injection (flu or tetanus shot for example).  Myositis will cause pain (myalgia).  See doctor if pain not getting better.

can maxalt (rizatriptan) work on the trigeminal nerve?

For migraine...: ...there are theories that the trigeminal nerve is involved.  Maxalt (rizatriptan) works to decrease and stop abnormal firing and release of certain chemicals that cause the migraine pain.  For the more typical trigeminal disease, trigeminal neuralgia, Maxalt (rizatriptan) does not have any effect because the mechanism of pain is different.  Good question!

See below: I am not familiar with the term neuromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is a syndrome of wide spread body pain which occurs predominantly in women. The cause or causes are not known but are thought to be a result of an overly sensitive nervous system.

Trigger?: Modify or decrease the trigger agent. 

Trigeminal nerve pain usually has a trigger; such as when brushing the teeth, brushing the face lightly, or air blowing on the face.

Certain medications like Carbamazepine can assist in relieving the painful jolts.

Surgery- microvascular decompression can also help in refractory cases.

Probably: While i've never heard of this happening, i'm sure it's possible that pressure on the area right in front of the ear (where the trigeminal nerve comes out) could irritate the nerve and cause pain.

? Shingles ?: Herpes virus loves to produce shooting pain along nerve pathways.  On the chest this can cause shooting from back to front.  In the face it can shoot from ear to nose.  This is branch of trigeminal nerve.  Well known and difficult to treat.  Discuss with your doctor.

Episodic neuropathic pain disorders are characterized by sudden volleys of intense, sharp stabbing pain of short duration that occur along the unilateral distribution of the involved nerve (Trigeminal or Facial). Ergonomics has no role in this complex neurologic disorder.

Generally not: It is unlikely that trigeminal neuralgia is a cause for ss disability.

=Sensory loss: or anesthesia involving different divisions of the trigeminal nerve, "snout" meaning nose, and "balaclava helmet" meaning a facial distribution similar to a ski mask.
