Regurgitate?: Is it that your food comes up and you vomit or it just comes into your throat and you have acid taste? You may have reflux or a hiatal hernia causing these symptoms.  See your md for help with this and possible exam with endoscopy and medication.

When the ventricle contracts, the mv is closed and no blood goes backward into the la unless regurgitation is present. Then the blood leaks backward, overfilling the la and raising the pressure.

Leaks a little: If fluid leaks back after it is pushed through a valve it is called regurgitation. Small amounts of such backwash are often seen with high resolution echo-cardiograms. It does not necessarily mean anything bad but must be taken in context of why the study was done & what they were looking for. Also, mild is a relative term, how much does the examiner need to see before it is not mild.

Depends: Most of the time your stomach would empty rather rapidly. However, absorption from the intestines could take longer. I am quite confident that after "hours" the drug has cleared your GI tract and is circulating in your blood stream.
