Need to see dr: You need to see your gynecologist to see what is going on.  You probably need some labwork and a sonogram to figure out what is causing this and get it treated.

Not with Trisprintec (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol): Triphasic pills are not reliable enough to avoid menses, monophasic pills would be better

Call the doc: Who put u on that pill, and ask your doc, I do not prescribe that generic pill, I use mostly monphasic pills, my #1 pill is loloestrin and if my pts want to skip the period they do not take the placebo pills and start a new pack, this works much better with a monophasic pill than a tri- phasci pill that u are on.

Skip Placebos: TriSprintec (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol) has 21 active pills followed by 7 placebo pills.  If you want to skip one period, take the 21 active pills as always.  Then on day 22, start a new pack of triSprintec (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol) and take it normally instead of taking the placebos .  You might have some breakthrough bleeding at some point but it will likely be after your honeymoon is over.   You are still protected from pregnancy.  Best wishes!

Take all pills: You should complete all of the pills in the fourth week of the pack before starting the next one.  It is normal to have your period during that week.

hey i'm 17 been on tri  sprintec bc pills for 4 years just started a new pill last week microgestin fe 1.5 is it safe to skip period pills ?

Yes, but...: You don't have to take the pills during the placebo week. There is no hormone in these pills, only iron. It's generally recommended to keep taking the pills so you stay on schedule and don't forget to start the next pack of pills.

my period started on nov 10, i buy tri sprintec on nov 13 is my 4th day of period, may i start the pills this sunday nov 18 or i need to wait?

Depends: If you want to start this month, then you can take 2 pills today, 2 tomorrow then one afterwards because you can catch up this month, or you can wait till next month to start on sunday on period week.

i missed a period. i took tri-sprintec for 8 days and suddenly stopped to take it. can it be that i missed a period because i stopped it suddenly?

Possible: You should always finish your pack at the end not the beginning or middle unless there is a good medical reason to do so (ie you find out your pregnant) this will create less bleedign issues and abnormal cycles.

do i just wait until my next period or continue?

Yes: just pretend you are taking 1 pill a day for 7 days; your accident is a very unusual one, what were you thinking?

my dr switched me from lessina to tri sprintec three days ago due to breakthrough bleeding on lessina. a day after starting tri sprintec it looked as through the bleeding was ending, but now its like on starting a period all over again. normal?

Low dose bcp ?'s: The cause of breakthrough bleeding with any kind of low dose oral bcp's is not being very punctual in taking the active pills within the hour of the previous day's active pill.  Unless you started a new pack greater than seven days after stopping the previous pack of bcp's, the chance of pregnancy is minimal. Stop the present pack, wait five days, and start a new pack, but be punctual.
