Yes: If you are using very harsh depilatories (hair removal creams),  or hair removal with tapes, then the underlying hair follicles can be damaged causing hair pubic hair reduction.

No.: You can get infection at the site of hair follicles, but you cannot get sores vaginally.  You need to be seen by a doctor who can check your herpes viral titers.

I  don't understand : The association. If you have a change in color, texture, odor or amount of vaginal discharge ; problems such as pain, itching burning with urination or sex or redness/swelling  then it is best to see your gynecologist for evaluation ; accurate assessment.

Ouch!: Try using clippers to clip the hairs around the infected site. Wash the area beforehand with an antibacterial soap like Hibiclens or Betadine.  Once the hairs are clipped the ingrown hair will no longer have root support to continue its' growth into skin and will fall out naturally. Please keep the area clean and dry and oh, by the way, take a break from sexual activity until its' healed.

Usually no: Pubic hair does not grow in the mucosa inside the vagina since it is non hair bearing. Vaginal discharge may indicate a reaction to something that has been placed into the vagina or a reaction to bacterial/yeast overgrowth. If the discharge is discolored, has an odor or causes burning/itching, there may be an infection present.

Try : Try using an over the counter yeast infection cream; apply it to the outside of your vagina (affected area) for a few days twice a day. If that does not work visit your doctor for an evaluation. It may be a bacterial infection requiring antibiotics.

Probably not...: ...Real pubic hair: a few wisps of hair are acceptable on infant vulva. If there's lots of it, ask your dr next time.

Not true: There are no health risk with shaving that area however care must be taken near the mucosa not to cut or knick the area, it would bleed more that skin and has the risk of infection
