See doc: I would see a Neurologist for evaluation.  Every case of saturday night palsy I have ever seen turned out to be something else that was treatable.

These are just to name a few....

R/O BELLS PALSY: Unilateral facial weakness can be secondary to a sub clinical  HSV infection. Bell's palsy can respond to Prednisone /Valtrex combo. You need a prompt Exam and Labs. Bells Palsy if recurrent can be Secondary to LYME DISEASE. Also unilateral Facial weakness can be a sign of a CVA. Seek prompt medical evaluation.

Steroids first: If pain is present, steroids should be given promptly. Since many cases are thought due to herpesvirus, the combination of steroids and an antiviral, such as zovirax, (acyclovir) is often used. Of course that doesn't always work. Corneal protection (eye patches & drops) should be used if eye closure is incomplete. Facial massage to affected areas preserves muscle flexibility until nerve healing occurs.
