i am suffering from g a d.since birth.i am on effexor 300mg valium 10mg since 1979,amitriptyline75mg for pain and trazodone 100mg.my dr stated months ago that there is no cure but this week we wants me to wean off them.my phys wants to stay on them?

GAD: Please do not change your medications w/out the guidance of your doctor.  Choose one, perhaps your primary care doctor, since he/she looks at your overall health picture.  Have you seen a psychologist for other kinds of help such as clinical hypnosis (see www.asch.net), biofeedback, or psychotherapy?  All if these can help w/anxiety and pain.  Peace and good health.

i have an addiction problem to 3 meds. 25mg valium , 300mg neurontin, (gabapentin) 50mg trazodone. i have bad symptoms when i try to reduce any of them. who would be the best doctor to see to help me?

Treatment Center: Congratulations on your desire to take control of your addiction. Withdrawal symptoms are never something to take lightly, as they can range from uncomfortable to life-threatening. You can start with your primary care but your best option may be to do inpatient detox where they can manage your symptoms effectively and keep you as comfortable as possible.

No: Question one:  why are you taking Valium 20 mg per dose in first place.  Maximum recommended dose is 10 mg three times a day.  Two:  why are you on trazadone: insomnia, depression,,,?  You need to reconsider your treatment for insomnia.  Please your family doctor or a sleep center.  At 56 yo, that dosing of those meds, you may have a permanent rest.  Stop and see your doctor now!

i have been prescribed valium 5 mg, just 1 the night before oral surgery and 1 the day of. i also take zanax 1mg and trazadone 100 mg at night for sleep. can i take both? only have two valliums and take zanax and trazadone every night?

: Every drug you describe causes drowsiness, sedation, and potential dizziness.  Together all three could result in apnea while asleep and in your age group, would advise NOT taking the Xanax and Trazadone together and certainly not adding the Valium.   You need to discuss all of this with your primary care doctor ASAP.

didn't really like some sidefx i got with taking trazadone with my celexa (citalopram) and valium. is it ok to take melatonin for sleep aid? any other suggestions?
