Safe: Lorazepam and Klonopin (clonazepam) are chemically similar. Doses low so should be fine to switch.

i am 51 and had my first grand mal seizure  2  weeks  ago.  was prescribed  paxil, (paroxetine) levetiracetam, clonazepam, trazodone  and butalbital. headache,why?

See doctor: Trazodone and paxil (paroxetine) can interact to increase brain serotonin levels. See your doctor treating you for seizures to evaluate headache. Review meds with doctor prescribing Trazodone and paxil (paroxetine) re possible drug interactions. I hope this helps.

Best way w/ Rx(s): ALWAYS discuss these things when a Dr prescribes a drug. In this case there are warnings of risks for these being both used.  You might be dizzy, confused and must avoid activities that might demand full attention (driving, etc).  Call to ask if they are aware of the mix. Be careful - it's important. Best!

Yes: It is a safe combination.  I can think of a number of clinical scenarios where this would be very appropriate and I have quite a few patients on this combination.

is it dangerous to take 2 mg of klonopin, 10 mg of ambien (zolpidem) and 50 mg of trazodone all within a half hour in order to sleep? i'm a 140 lb woman.

Not a good idea: Research consistently shows that taking sleeping medicines like Ambien (zolpidem) plus benzodiazepines like Klonopin increase risk for bad things like falling &amp; breaking hips. Confusion, car accidents, etc too. Trazodone is also sedating. All in all, a very bad combination from my perspective. FDA recently limited new prescriptions of Ambien (zolpidem) in women to just 5mg daily. Klonopin 2mg is largest dose too.

150 mg trazodone, 1 mg klonopin. and 10 mg ambien (zolpidem). ambien (zolpidem) doesn't work for me by itself been on klonopin for years. trazodone was great in the past. any thoughts.? sounds like a major hangover to me.

Medication effects: Trazodone and Klonopin may cause insomnia.
Klonopin may cause Depression, emotional lability, confusion.
Ambien (zolpidem) may cause drugged feeling, confusion.
Using Trazodone with Ambien (zolpidem) and Klonopin may increase dizziness, difficulty concentrating, some impairment in thinking and judgment.

i have narcolepsy and have not been able to fall asleep or stay asleep for many nights. i currently take 1.5mg klonopin and 50mg trazodone at night. is it ok to take .5mg klonopin, 5mg ambien and 25mg trazodone for a week?

: Caution would be suggested. None of the drugs you mention is recommended as treatment for narcolepsy as they are mostly used to induce sleep. Your best reference remains your prescribing doc who will be able to weigh in having a clear clinical context.

sleep doc switched me from ambien (zolpidem) to ambien (zolpidem) cr. i told him ambien (zolpidem) wasn't working any longer. he also put me back on trazodone 150 which i told him stopped working in sept. kept me on klonopin 1 mg. confused by his actions?

Insomnia: I understand your need to have good sleep.
Trazodone is a medication for Depression, Klonopin for Anxiety, Ambien (zolpidem) and Ambien (zolpidem) CR for sleep problem which loses its effectiveness after 3-4 weeks.
Medications ineffectiveness indicates need for Diagnosis, Therapy by a Psychiatrist for stresses in life which could be relationship, marriage, separation, unresolved painful feelings; medication as needed

am - i take 60mg prozac, 300 wellbutrin, (bupropion) and .5 clonazepam.  in pm - i take .5 clonazepam, 300 trazodone, 5 ambien, and 5 melatonin. too much??

Wow!!!: You are on a lot of medication and although it is a lot to just see it also depends on the reasons for the use of these medications and whether just one physician ordered them or more than one provider ordered the meds.  You need to discuss with your physician about each one and what it is for and if you need that much medication.  What side effects are you having as well.  Hope this helped.
