Anything, generally: Depending on your doctor's preparation, you can often eat a regular diet until the day before your colonoscopy.  A light breakfast the day before, and clear liquids all day before your procedure is generally adequate.  Remember though, anything you put in your face before your scope, will have to come out with the prep!

If the bowel secretions are cloudy from milk proteins it is more difficult to clear the area completely and have an optimal view of the bowel lining through the scope. Constipation : If the colonoscopy was uncomplicated, its highly unlikely there is an association between your current 5-day problem 2-months after the colo. 5-days of no bowel movement is not uncommon & may be pathological depending on what normal is for you. If not passing gas, have abdominal pain, fever, nausea/vomiting, etc., then it is a problem. See your doctor for an evaluation.

: As long as you perform the GI recommended clean out beforehand, it doesn’t matter.

Next day: If you are a pilot, the restriction relates to the anesthetic used.  No flying for 24 hours after sedatives and narcotics.  As a passenger, you can fly the next day, also.

Check with GI doctor: A normal person doing a screening colonoscopy should be fine a day or so after the procedure and resuming her usual diet and activities. One can call the GI doctor and ask about persistent bloating symptoms. Some patients are not "normal" and actually have bowel disorders as the reason for colonoscopy, so they may have more symptoms after the procedure.

Several variables:: The prep for the colonoscopy + the exam itself should have largely emptied your colon, which can hold quite a bit of material. Depending on both how much you have been eating &amp; how much this food is not fully digested &amp; absorbed (leaving residual material), combined with how much you usually retain within your colon, there will be a delay in recurrence of previous elimination amounts &amp; patterns.
