i want to know which of these drugs is associated with more weight gain: tramadol or valium. ?

i took 50 mg tramadol for back pain then 5 mg valium for insomnia. then i looked up interactions and found this is hazardous. should i do anything about it right now?

: These are relatively modest doses on a one-time basis.  The problem occurs at night mostly, especially if you have sleep apnea.  Do not mix further or independently dose yourself without a doctor's supervision.

i've taken 7.5mg zopiclone + 5mg valium & 2 x 30/500 cocodamol for sleep but it is ineffective. i've now had amitriptyline & tramadol. is this safe?

Not Safe!: It is never safe to combine these medications. Talk to your doctor about your insomnia. You need a careful evaluation in order to obtain an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Polypharmacy is never safe! We lose too many young people each year due to unintentional overdose. Be safe and work with your doctor.

all anti dep & anti anxiety meds i've checked are  incompatible w tramadol.  it seems valium or adavan are my only alternative. agree? any i've missed?

Tramadol is tricky: Tramadol interacts with many meds.  Even combined with Valium or Ativan (lorazepam) there's a risk of cns/respiratory depression and psychomotor impairment.  With most antidepressants there's a risk of serotonin syndrome too.  If you must stay on tramadol, consider tricyclic antidepressants like imipramine.  Sedation and serotonin syndrome are possible, but can be monitored by your doctor.

doc rxed tramadol 50mg-100mg every 6 hours for pain. i've recently come off prozac, (fluoxetine) over two weeks. i also take 15mg valium/day. could i get seizure??

Take as directed...: With limited information here, appears decreasing Prozac (fluoxetine) and continuing on valium poses little risk.  Reminder to start and stop medications as directed by prescribing physician, but in general, decreasing and stopping Prozac (fluoxetine) or ssri type medications is reasonably safe from a seizure risk concern.

i am on valium, neurontin, motrin, zantac, skelaxin, (metaxalone) and tramadol. what kinds of long-term affects should i be aware of with that combination?

Too many meds for: my liking. and more chance of side effects or other complications. The long term problems I would be concerned would be becoming addicted to one or more of these meds.. AT least 3 of them are known to be addictive.
Discuss it with your Doc and share your concerns with her/him.

i have menieres. i'm suffering frequent, debilitating vertigo & vomiting. my dr has me on valium, promethizine, ultram. meclizine be best?

Many options: Unfortunately, no cure exists for Meniere's disease, but some strategies may help you manage some symptoms. Here are just a few: vestibular rehabilitation therapy, middle ear injections (ENT), diuretics (Dyazide), Meniett device (not sure about long term) East West Medicine integration (acupuncture) and rule out TMJ at the affected side.

i'm having a lower back molar extracted w/premeds of ultracet, (tramdol and acetaminophen) 10mg valium, novacaine, & nitrous oxide. can i also take my prescription 15mg oxezapam?

NO: Please discuss your medications with your primary care physician and your dentist.  For sure you should not be using 2 benzodiazepines at the same time (the Oxazepam and valium).   Select one only if you feel you need this.

No: This would not be a recommended combination as both are benzodiazepines. I cannot think of any reason to take both together and the interaction could be harmful.

You can : But it will have very strong synergistic effect, heavy sedating effect, may also cause stronger inhibition on the respiratory center.
