Accepted Answer

Probably not: By chemical testing if you mean biological monitoring for effects of workplace toxins, like lead, asbestos, etc., there's no point in doing this if a worker is not exposed to these substances by the nature of their work, even if the toxins exist somewhere else in the workplace.  If you mean drug testing, this is a matter of company policy as it pertains to the drug free workplace act.

do acrylic retainers -used after braces are off- release any sort of toxic chemicals?

Accepted Answer

Skin patch test: Retainers are usually made from a material called methyl methacrylate.  One way to test for sensitivity is to get a small disk, use an non-allergic bandaid and place this on your forearm for 48 hours.  If there is a redness at the site when you remove the bandaid, then you might have an allergic reaction and there are other substances that an be used.

Accepted Answer

Depends which chemic: als that he is exposed to. He should shower and leave boots and soiled clothes in a plastic bag away from contact with bed linens, clean clothes using general decontamination procedures. If he wears protective clothing at work over his normal clothes, or in place of them, then this may not be needed. Depends on whether he's inhaling fumes or not. Urine samples can show how much he's absorbing.

Toxic Cloth: There are no inexpensive ways to test cloth or clothing for toxic chemicals.  When you buy something new, it doesn't hurt to wash it first before wearing it.  Make sure you use safe laundry detergents.

i know neoprene is considered a toxic chemical, but is it toxic to use neoprene dumbells for a workout? if so, how is it toxic through using dumbells?

Not likely: Not likely to be enough absorption through your hands to be of any concern.

An infection: Might represent an infection or medicine or vitamin eliminated with the urine. Any pain? If there is pain than is an infection. Any med introduced over the last month. If cannot clarify this way need a urinalysis, see a doc.

Dental fillings: Toxic chemicals are not used in the mouth
as far as amalgam fillings no negative research is present and silver fillings have a history of reducing caries around them and they hold up longer it's just cosmetically  they aren't pretty.

Probably not but...: Agent Orange contains dioxin, a  toxic chemical proven to cause many serious illnesses. Muscular dystrophy is something people are born with. No, usually not: Leukocytosis is an abnormally high number of white blood cells in the blood, as measured on a blood test. Both viral and bacterial infections can sometimes cause high numbers of white blood cells (wbc's) or low numbers of wbc's (leukopenia). Unusual leukocytosis, not caused by an infection, can be due to a bone marrow problem such as an early stage of leukemia. A doctor can further evaluate.

when we cook/ fry / deep fry food(e.g. meat with certain mushrooms or some herbs), is it possible that chemical reaction that produce toxics happened ?  any guidelines or regulatory body on this

Sort of: Frying does produce acrylamide and other toxins, but the amounts are usually not meaningful.
