Sleeping on the side of TOS depends on the cause but may cause thrombosis/clot  leading to stroke, permanent numbness, weakness. Avoid putting your affected arm behind your head or above your head while sleeping on stomach.

Maybe: Stay well hydrated. While that is low bp, it is the borderline for concern. Below 90/60 is the worry. These are related and treatments for the tos may be available. Quite reliable: Tos can be neurogenic, vascular or a mix of the two.  If angiography is done properly with position change included, should confirm or disconfirm vessel compression.  Nerve compression can easily be confirmed with emg, if the brachial plexus is studied correctly, using the newest techniques, including root stimulation and macn studies.  A few areas of expertise are available thruout the usa.

i have a mild case of tos, what problems could arise from sleeping on the side most affected by tos and how long can it take to recover from the crushed nerve bundles?

: Sleeping with a wrong posture, i.e. raise your arm up above your head, can exacerbate the neurogenic TOC but it should improve by time when the compression is relieved but it is hard to predict the recovery time. If the pain is persistent or it lasts for weeks, you need to see a physiatrist or physical therapist and sometimes medication(s) may be needed.

Do the PT: There are surgical options for tos, but only if conservative measures fail. So, if you don't improve, you'll need to be evaluated by a surgical specialist who performs tos procedures.

Little risk of clots: There is very little risk of blood clots in the upper arm even with Ehler Danlos Syndrome, unless there is prolonged compression or constriction. But hyperelastic condition leaves you prone to subluxation (slippage) of your joints and also some heart disease. Your DO is specially trained in joint maneuvers that could be very beneficial to you.

No, : No, thoracic outlet syndrome probably will not go away on its own unless you had a specific injury causing inflammation and swelling in that area. But, if you have tos it may be effectively treated with conservative measures such as stretching and physical therapy under the guidance of a trained professional. Sometimes anti-inflammatory injections are used if the condition is felt to be due to inflammation or injury. Approximately 10-15% of the time a decompressive surgery is needed, but this would be the final option after exhausting all other non-surgical interventions.

i have tos for 10 yrs now frozen shoulder since nov. doing physio and antiinflamatories. what else can be done?

See a tos md: There are a few people in the country who are tos specialists. See one of these folks. Your frozen shoulder can be treated with therapy nd injection but it may be secondary to your tos. Until tos resolved, you may have recurrence.

would uedvt caused by physiological issue (tos) be less concerning than if caused by clotting disorder of blood in terms of recurrence chance?

Yes if corrected: The clot needs treated to prevent migration to lungs in the short term, but if the anatomic trigger/focus is corrected/removed, then yes, less concerning, as anticoagulation can likely be stopped as recurrence risk would go back to baseline for population, but tos surgery can be a major big deal.
