The roots of the upper molar teeth in the back of the jaw may be too close to the floor of the maxillary sinus and you perceive sinus pain like a tooth pain. Do not get any dental treatment done before checking your sinus.

Tooth ache, pain med: Obviously, pain is a signal 'something is wrong' so a toothache says 'its time to see the dentist' to get the proper treatment. Until then you can take over-the-counter tylenol (acetaminophen) (max is 3000mg/day).  You may add Aleve (200mg) take 2 , twice a day. You can go to an urgent care and they can prescibe a small quantity of narcotic pain meds (e.g.Hydrocodone, oxycodone) and Amoxicillin if infection seen.

Don't understand?: If you have an aching tooth, see a dentist as soon as you can.  You may try an NSAID (ibuprofen type medication) or acetamenophen and may try heat or ice to see if you can get relief.  Take these if not contraindications.  Topical tooth ache drops or gels may help.  If you have an open cavity, lost filling, cracked tooth, you can get a temporary material to cover the tooth at local pharmacy.

Not in my opinion: It is a blood pressure med to control the diastolic pressure. Any tooth related problems are from another cause so please see your dentist.

That's a new one...: I've never heard of garlic powder helping with a toothache.  If it does, i'd be somewhat surprised.  I have heard of people using cloves or clove oil, though this is only a temporary sedative.  Seeing a dentist is the only real thing to permanently get rid of a toothache.

Depends on whether: The cold sensitivity is due to gum recession and exposure of the dentinal tubules or if it is due to caries (decay).  The former can be treated using a de-sensitizing toothpaste like sensodyne.  The relief is not immediate - can take many weeks.  In the meanwhile avoid acidic foods and liquids.  The latter needs to be evaluated and treated by a dentist (filling).  I would see a dentist regardless.

Needs treatment: From my vantage point, i cannot tell you what treatment you need or how much it will cost, and i don't know what your budget it. Insurance or no insurance, you need treatment. Clinics, dental schools, and hospital training programs can treat you on a sliding or reduced fee schedule. Nyu and columbia university have excellent dental schools close to you.
