No: That is above normal for boys or girls. Talk to pediatrician about it, as sell as diet, actvity. Obesity in childhood (that weight would fit the diagnosis, unless the child is really, really tall) is a major health problem for the present as well as the future. Needs action to start now.

for a man the formula is 106 pounds for 5ft tall and 6 poundsfor each inch there after. ( he would be 178 plus a margin of 10% for frame size equals 161-195lbs).
