i ate a little more than a teaspoon of raw active dry yeast what will happen to my stomach? i'm afraid that the yeast will grow in my stomach.

No worries: The kinds of yeast used in cooking, beer making, etc do not infect humans; nothing will happen. Anyway, such yeasts exist all around us, in dust, on our food, etc.  Without knowing it, you swallow billions of various yeasts and bacteria every day. Mostly it&#x27;s harmless, in fact is necessary for human health. So no worries at all!

Brewers yeast.  : If your stomach acid is a normal level, then brewers yeast should be killed there.

Possibly: I believe than in patients who are not significantly immunocompromised, symptomatic yeast infections in the stomach are unlikely.   I would suggest looking for other explanations.   Probiotics can be helpful for managing a host of conditions.   Look for options for getting off of the ranitidine.  Short term okay but long term  It too could be contributing to symptoms.

No...: Fungal infections are considered rare and unusual involving the lining of the stomach. The esophagus on the other hand is more susceptible to fungal infection.  Higher risk of such fungal infections are seen in patients immunosuppressed due to medications or immunocompromised secondary to HIV infection.

Borborygmi: borborygmi, the medical term for bowel sounds, is noise produced by movement of the contents of the intestines.  It can be normal, or may be increased when you are hungry, swallow air, or when incomplete digestion occurs, such as in lactose intolerance. Yeast infection does not cause excessive bowel sounds. Yeast rash: If this is a yeast rash, then Lotrimin (clotrimazole) AF cream will help a lot.  It is not common to get yeast rash on the face, stomach and back, so this may be more of a contact dermatitis or atopic dermatitis, and then a cream with hydrocortisone will be more helpful.  A yeast rash is common after antibiotics, but contact/atopic rash  is more likely related to a an irritating food, loose BM's or soap, etc.

Yeast infections: The scenario you describe sounds like diffuse, systemic fungal infection and this is usually seen in persons who are severely immunocompromised.  Yeast in the blood can be life-threatening, yeast in the esophagus and other organs can cause difficulty eating and drinking, malabsorption, weight loss, wasting.  It is very serious and requires aggressive treatment of the infection and underlying cause

Usually not: If you have a discharge with stomach pain, then you should see your doctor. Yeast infections generally don't cause stomach pain. You may have a more serious infection.

Not buying it: Sorry, this sounds like it came from "the onion" or other satire/comedy site. But, yeasts, like bacteria, are usually ingested. Use of antibiotics also make us (humans) susceptible to fungal infestation. Good luck.

Yeast infection: Either this is not in the stomach or you are critically ill with immune suppression and potentially near death.  Think you may have misunderstood what you were told by your doctor. If not, would ask for more information.
