: Lumpy stuff is not really a medical description, and it isn't clear if you have had your tonsils removed. It is probably a good idea to have your physician take a look.

daughter's tonsils are huge/lumpy. she's had a near abscess, tonsillitis, and strep. anything i can do at home to help? i hate so many antiobiotics.

Confusing question: You state she "had" a ?near abscess?  and strep. Tonsils grow faster than the kids until 6-8 when they all usually look relatively large.This size difference declines, and by 16 they are relatively small. Recurrent infections can keep them large. Antibiotics are fine when used judiciously and can prevent lifelong complications.Good hand washing habits help decrease any childhood illness.

Do you tend to : have health anxiety?  You can drive yourself batty if you continue to "what if?" about every symptom. The lumpy throat feeling is a classic symptom of anxiety. If you have significant change in symptoms or intensity woudl consider medical assessment.

sore throat on one side when i swallow. no tonsils. i see a penny sized lumpy bump way back on that right side what looks to be on the pharyngeal tongue and/or throat. what could it be, will gargling with salt water help?

Throat problem : This needs to be seen. There are several possible reasons for your concern. Tonsil stones. Tonsillith comes to mind.

The : The classic strep throat is very red (the description in some textbooks is "beefy red" or the colour of raw beef). Often you will see white or green "exudates" or pus on the tonsils, which are also swollen. You may also see little dark-red, almost purple, spots on the back of the roof of the mouth and on the uvula (the little "punching bag" that hangs from the center of the back of the mouth). The tongue may be very red with little white spots, like a strawberry (the "strawberry tongue") or white with little red spots, like a strawberry dipped in white chocolate. Sometimes a person with strep throat will have very bad breath, but this is not always true.
Usually a person with strep throat will have swollen and tender lymph nodes at the front sides of the neck, and the throat will hurt so much that even swallowing liquids is painful. Coughing is rare with strep throat, unlike viral or dryness-related soreness. Temperature may go up to 103 or more. 
If symptoms persists, go back to your pcp.

Sore throat: Looking at what you describe you may have a bacteria infection of your throat. You should see your doctor or go into an urgent care to get a rapid test done to see if you need antibiotics.

hi doctors, i have 2 ulcers in my mouth and its killing every time i eat and feels lumpy. is there any way to make it go away asap?

Mouth ulcers: You can eat lots of cold things like ice cream and popsicles. In addition you can ask your physician for a viscous local anesthetic and swish it through your mouth as necessary.  The ulcers are probably viral in origin.

my 4 mths baby's face was red lumpy itchy. also on arm and behing the knees. pedestrian said eczema, atopic dermatitis. gave advantan 3 days & eldel. i have seen after using the advantan my baby face had some discoloration around her cheek mouth nose?

Moisturizer: I would suggest a gentle baby moisturizer, no soap on the face and baby sunblock/ a hat. Report the discoloration to your doctor. Watch for any flare ups once solids are introduced,. There can be an association w food allergies.

Iodine contrast: Oral contrast for abdominal ct has been fallen out of favor in our area. However, if you were to take it, none of the conditions you listed is a contraindication.

Pharyngitis: It sounds as if you may be suffering from acute pharyngitis (infection of the back of the throat).  The majority of the infections are caused by viruses but they can also be caused by bacteria, such as streptococcus.
