Fibroma: This is likely a fibroma. Have your doctor check it if it is worrying you. If it is not changing in size or growing it is likely nothing to worry about.   This can be easily removed in the office. If you are a smoker, drinker, or chewer of tobacco, it is more worrisome and should be checked immediately  this week. : Oral STDs rarely cause sore throat or other symptoms. However, oral sex itself sometimes results in throat pain afterward (for unknown reasons). Perhaps most likely is just a common cold, especially if your partner also has cold symptoms. Mild vaginal bleeding is very common after first vaginal intercourse. But see a doctor if all this continues or you otherwise remain concerned. Good luck.

No: HIV isn't transmitted by kissing. Period. You can get gonorrhea or syphilis or infectious mono or CMV. But not HIV. Very few people are bleeding, especially while you're kissing them. i have clogged sinus everyday. i wake up with a sore throat. i have shortness of breath everyday but no cough. i did try nasal spray but my nose starts bleeding and get heart pulplatations. i am unsure what to do?

Possible allergy : You may have a sinus infection or an allergic reaction. If you have a fever, please discuss treatment for chronic sinusitis with your PCP. Nasal saline rinses may be helpful in either case. The use of nasal steroids may be associated with bleeding. Direct the nozzle away from the septum ( middle) and use as prescribed. Avoid dust, mold, pollen and animal dander.

ENT exam: The swollen tonsil, if not painful  could be left over from an old infection but an examination by an otolaryngologist is recommended to fully evaluate a persistently  enlarged tonsil.

Sore throat: For significant sore throat with swollen tonsils / lymph nodes –  see physician & get a strep throat test/ culture. If you have strep throat, antibiotic therapy is imperative to prevent future complications. Consider tylenol (acetaminophen) or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications. Saltwater gargles: mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle several times a day. Or gargle with aloe vera juice twice a day.

what is a good over-the-counter medication for sore tonsils or sore throat?

Sore throat: Tylenol or Motrin can be used for the pain and the fever if present.  Flonase can help if the sore throat is due to post nasal drip.' Chloroseptic spray can numb up the throat to take the pain away.  It is sprayed in the throat every few hours and woks on the surface of the throat and the tonsils.  You may also have tonsil stones that get inflamed. Have the ent doctor check it out.
